MINUTES---BISHOP’S COMMITTEE

                                                DECEMBER 17, 2006

                                                            8:00 A.M.

                                                   SPECIAL MEETING

Members Present:  Liz Manning, Paula Sumners, Corby Craig, Tom Peterson, Gail Moreman, Pat Burleson, Bob Keith

Members Not Present: Betsy Stephenson, Susan Dunham, Joe McShane

 

Also Present: Mike Kelly, Rev. Royce Calhoun

            The meeting opened with Prayer.

            The minutes of our meeting of  December  3 were approved.

 

            The Clergy Compensation Committee, reported that since our meetings in March, 2006 with the Rev. Don Lee and Marjorie George of the Diocesan offices, the base stipend for Priests has increased to a total of $85,000 annually.  This includes a plethora of items, but relevant to us are:

            Compensation:

                        A.        Salary                                     $33,999

                        B.        Housing                                 $15,344

            Other Employment Costs:

                        A.        Auto Allowance                    $  6,500

                        B.        Med,Dental, Life Ins            $21,136

                        C.        Pension Assessment          $  8,881

            Other Benefits:

                        A.        Vacation of one month

                        B.        Continuing education leave, two weeks

            In addition is a moving allowance of actual expenses not to exceed $1,500.

            Upon Motion of Paula Sumners & Second of Corby Craig, the foregoing compensation package for the Rev. Les Spear was approved unanimously.  Tom Peterson abstained with the statement he approved the total package but wants to explore reducing the insurance costs

            Mike Kelly reported that the fence construction was complete on our Reiner property line, the old fence has been removed and the contractor paid in full
