The meeting opened with Prayer. The minutes of our meeting of June 23, 2007 were approved.
The gift of a Baby Grand Piano from Mrs. Charles Sumners and her sons, Thomas, Charles and Robert was gratefully received.
The financial statement was reviewed with care. Adoption of the Budget for 2007 was approved as presented by the Bishop’s Warden. A caveat was noted that receipts are
$9,000 less than our pledges for the first six months of calendar year 2007. A report of each family unit’s pledge and payments, year to date, will be prepared by Sandi Burleson and sent to each family over the signature of the Bishop’s Warden.
Based upon a study and recommendation of Thomas Sumners regarding our website, the following was approved:
a. an expenditure of up to $120 for renewal of our web-site with “Network Solutions” for only “stlukes-cm.org”;
b. an expenditure of $400 to George Cofran to re-design our website to make it more “useful and user friendly”;
c. an expenditure of $40 per month to George Cofran to maintain our web-site.
Paula Sumners reported on a “very successful” Vacation Bible School at a cost approximating $600 for materials, much of which will be used next year. Support of the Methodist Church, Westlake; and the robust participation and contribution of a number of our adult parishioners was likened to the “Alpha Program” .
Vicar’s Report: The Rev. Spear:
> reported “conditional support” of our having two services, which will be at 8:00 and 10:15 a.m., beginning September 10, 2007, with Sunday Schools for adults and children
to be held between services;

> restated his role as a “visionary” , to impart a vision to our parishioners, urging us “to put God first, and all else will fall into place”.
> presented Joe McShane to offer a revised proposal for Stations of the Cross.
Joe McShane moved adoption of a “July 2007” Alternate Proposal for construction of Stations of the Cross for a total estimated cost of $986, with a donation in hand to defray the cost.. Paula Sumners seconded the motion. Upon discussion the motion did not receive a majority vote of the Bishop’s Committee.
The meeting adjourned at 9:05 a.m.
