MINUTES---BISHOP’S COMMITTEE
March 18, 2007

The meeting opened with Prayer. The minutes of our meeting of February 18 2007 were approved, following which these reports were made:
Treasurer: Discussion largely focused on the proposed budget, the principal items being:
a) the need for altar linens and opportunity for special gifts therefore;
b) affording opportunity for gifts to purchase chasubles;
c) ten percent of our “plate and pledge” receipts to be dedicated to local outreach as determined by the committee at its December 3, 2006, meeting, with the funds transferred quarterly;
d) the cost and necessity of funding Vacation Bible School;
e) the purchase of a new computer;
f) the lack of need for “high speed internet” service;
g) the fact of our anticipated $20,000+ shortfall for calendar 2007.
The Audit Committee report was approved unanimously for submission to the Diocesan office. The Committee reported all systems were in place and functioning well and recommended at least one carry-over from the committee each year. Thanks were expressed to Betsy Stephenson, Tom Peterson and Rick Schroeter for their service.
The operating statement and balance sheet were received and reviewed.
Vicar’s Report: The Rev. Spear announced Easter Services as being:
April 1 9:00 a.m. Palm Sunday
Wednesday, April 4, 6:00 p.m., Compline
Thursday, April 5 7:00 p.m., Maundy Thursday
Friday, April 5 noon & 6:00 p.m. Good Friday
Saturday, April 7, 7:00 p.m., Easter Vigil
Sunday, April 8 9:00 a.m. Easter
He also reported on the carpet being installed in the Hill House, to be completed Monday, March 19; and progress on completion of his office furnishings, including book shelves and interior cedar beam stripping.
Warden’s Report: Liz Manning acknowledged the Committee’s retreat of March 10 and sought guidance on communicating with committee members by email and eliciting a response. Joe McShane reported attendance as being:

The Christie series program, with hamburger cookout, will be April 24.
Clean-up days will be Saturday, March 31 and Saturday, April 7.
General discussion followed as to locating sites for “Stations of the Cross”.
Attendance was good, discussion was robust, time ran short. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 a.m.
