MINUTES---BISHOP’S COMMITTEE

January 7, 2008

Members Present:  Susan, Betsy, Tom, Marie, Thomas, Fielding, and David Green

Members Not Present: Gail, Corby

 

Also Present: Rev. Les Spear, David Manning, Liz, and Joe

 

The meeting opened with prayer. 

 

  1.  Members of the budget/compensation committee met in December to prepare a budget and compensation package for 2008. Members of the committee--Tom Peterson, Marie McShane, Susan Dunham, and treasurer David Manning-- were thanked for their work.  The purpose of the January 7 meeting was for them to present their recommendation to the Bishop’s Committee.

 

  1. Tom led the discussion and emphasized five areas. Total income was projected to be $92,800; pledges at this time are $79,200.; a new item is $2,400 for a part time bookkeeper.; and the outreach budget is $15,108. And the budget projects a $37,154 deficit.

 

  1. The Bishop’s committee voted to accept the budget/compensation as presented with a deletion of the part time bookkeeper. The committee also asked for a recommendation for expenditures in outreach and named a committee to review the items in Outreach: Betsy and Thomas agreed to serve, and we will ask Rita to also be on the committee.

 

  1. The bishop’s committee discussed the regular meetings for the 2008-year with the 4th Monday evening being the first choice and the 4th Thursday evenings being the second choice. The next meeting was temporarily scheduled for January 24.
